A man from Monroe County received an award for his bravery during the shooting at a meeting in Ross Township in August of last year.
Bernard Kozen, of Tobyhanna, received a Carnegie Medal.
Officials said when Rockne Newell was allegedly firing shots, Kozen attacked him, and with the help of another man, got the gun away from Newell.
Three people were killed in that shooting last year in Monroe County.
