LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP -- Information released in search warrants reveal the name of the person police believe pulled the trigger in a shooting death in Lycoming County.

Court papers also offer more details on what happened in the car early Sunday morning near Montoursville.

That woman's name is Sherri Scarantino, and according to court papers, she was the girlfriend of the man who ended up dead.

State police filed three search warrants in connection with the case, and those warrants reveal a lot about what troopers say happened early Sunday morning near Montoursville.

State police say Ty Kimble was shot to death before 2 a.m. Sunday along Warrensville Road near Montoursville. Court documents reveal this woman admitted shooting Kimble and says she called him her boyfriend. Sherri Scarantino says she called 911 and told dispatchers she and Kimble got into a fight inside her car and that he was hitting and choking her.

According to search warrants filed in the case, Scarantino and Kimble had been drinking at a bar in Williamsport Saturday night. The two got into a fight, she left him at the bar and drove back to his house near Montoursville.

Court papers say Kimble started to walk home, but he called Scarantino and she eventually picked him up. That's when she says things got physical.

According to the search warrants, she told troopers that Kimble got into her car and started hitting her in the face and head. She reached for her gun. She first fired the gun into the car's dashboard. A second shot hit Kimble in the head.

After that, Kimble fell out of the car along Warrensville Road. Scarantino drove back to his house, less than a mile away, before driving back to the scene and calling 911.

According to court papers, Sherri Scarantino had injuries including redness all over her face and neck and cuts. She was questioned by troopers and then released from custody on Sunday evening.

State police said there are no major updates in the case, but interviews are continuing to be done. At this point, the case is still under investigation.
