HONESDALE -- One of the last things any of us wants to do this time of year is take a shower outside.
But Michael G. Stanton with Bold Gold Media does it every year in downtown Honesdale. He strips down and hops in the tub to help kids have a good Christmas.
For about three hours on Saturday, Stanton's Shower for Charity raised more than $20,000 for the Wayne County Children's Christmas Bureau.
"I mean it's just a great, great event. I'm the guy that stands outside. This is the easy part. Everybody else, the warmth and goodness of their hearts, helps the kids, so my heart goes out to them," Stanton said.
This is the 13th year for the Shower for Charity.
With the help of sponsors and donations from folks driving by, Stanton and company have raised more than $150,000 in all for the cause.
