The state finals in high school football are being played this weekend in Hershey and one team from our area has a shot at a title.

Friday night the Dunmore football team got a huge send-off as the Bucks left Lackawanna County on their way to Chocolate-town.

The Dunmore Bucks Football team was given a police and fire escort as they left the high school, heading for Hershey and hopefully victory.

Parents said they couldn't be more proud to see the team making it to the state championship game once again.

“It gives you chills, that something you never think would happen, he`d have a chance to do that, when I played high school sports that never happened,” said parent Barry Williams.

For the Dunmore Bucks, this is the fourth time going to states.

The most recent trip was just two years ago.

“It's very exciting, this is awesome, especially being this is our senior year, having my twin brother on the team, it's a great feeling to be with my best friends and celebrate my last game with them,” said senior Timmy Drewes.

And remembering that game in 2012 where they fell to Clarion, the team is eager to take to the field again.

“Being there twice, Sal Marchese there will be, the two Drewes brothers, couple other kids were all down there too, it`s just a great feeling going back you know,” said junior Bob Stout.

For head coach Jack Henzes, who has coached the bucks for nearly 50 years, he's proud to bringing his boys back to Hershey again.

‘It's very exciting for our school district and our community because everyone's worked so hard, our coaches have done a great job with our players and they've responded extremely well and we're really thrilled to be going back to Hershey again,” said Henzes.
