SCRANTON---Friends tearfully described her as a 'beautiful person' who always 'looked out for others' and 'did not deserve to die'.

Investigators said Stephanie Tyminski, 29, was found dead inside her apartment in Valley View Terrace, a housing complex in Scranton Wednesday morning. Thursday, the coroner said an autopsy revealed she died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

"Anytime a young woman or any young person dies at an early age, it's a tragedy. Our goal now is, we can't bring her back but we can try to get justice for her," said Scranton Police Chief Carl Graziano.

Police said they got the call at 10 a.m. after Tyminski's body was discovered in the bathroom of her apartment.

For hours Wednesday and Thursday, police searched for evidence. At one point, an officer lookied inside a dumpster near Tyminski's apartment building.

"We've collected a lot of forensic evidence, interviewed a lot of people. There's a lot more evidence to proces, a lot more people to interview. At this point, there is no evidence to suggest this is a random act," said Chief Graziano.

Police said Tyminski lived alone.

At this point, they do not believe her death was a random act of violence.

"We don't want to comment on any specific evidence that was retrieved from the home, other than that we believe there was some sort of struggle in the apartment that resulted in the death of the victim. "

Scranton police urge anyone with information to contact them; they said tips can remain confidential.
