TOBYHANNA -- Parts of the Poconos picked up some accumulations during this latest winter storm, especially in the higher elevations.

The snow in Stroudsburg just simply doesn't exist. Downtown Main Street barely saw accumulations, and what flakes did fall have already melted throughout the day.

But in the Tobyhanna area, we found a much different story.

There were enough flakes to get out the snow throwers in Tobyhanna, folks clearing paths to their homes after the latest winter storm in Monroe County.

Rose Hayes used her shovel to dig a route for the mailman.

"My granddaughter mailed a letter to Santa Claus, so we have to make sure the mailbox is clear so she can get her letter out," said Hayes.

"I wrote I've been a nice girl all year and I did chores," said 9-year-old Brianna Smith.

Briannna says she hopes her letter makes it to the North Pole, through about four inches of snow. And that Santa brings her an American Girl Doll.

Although there's plenty of snow to play with in Tobyhanna, folks say it's not so bad. You can see here on Route 423 the road has already been cleared and folks can still get around.

Brianna and her neighbor David took advantage of the snow in the back yard, sledding. They're also planning to make some snowmen, too.

"He wanted to build Olaf, that's one of the reasons he wanted to come out have a nice little Olaf snowman," said David Castillo of Tobyhanna.

The snow did cause a little trouble for a pup, however, running around the backyard was a chore. The snow was almost over his head.

But most people who live in Tobyhanna say this storm was kinder than usual to this part of the Poconos.

"Pretty mediocre, most of the time we get some snow, there's a lot more of it," said Castillo.

The snow only delayed classes for students in Stroudsburg, but down in the Pocono Mountain School District and a few others throughout our area, they had to mark off another snow day on the calendar thanks to this latest storm.
