Jordan Underwood grew up in Union Dale-Susquehanna County and graduated from Forest City high school. Growing up, he played youth hockey in the Southern Tier league in Binghamton. Jordan has always loved the sport, but four years ago brain cancer took away his dreams and his ability to be on the ice.

"The brain is going weak again and it's actually doing it now. I actually have sometime and it's doing it as best while I can," said Jordan Underwood.

"Oh! There's some good days and bad days, but it's really trying you just have to keep praying and hoping for that miracle. That it's going to go away," said Nancy Underwood.

The campaign to rehabilitate Jordan is called "Keep calm and skate on." And while he fights his brain cancer his physical therapists made it possible for Jordan to lace up the skates and be on the ice with some of the players from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey team.

"Swish of the puck. Good job."

"One of Jordan's goals when he came into therapy was he wanted to be able to skate again, he's a former hockey player and he just wanted to have enough balance to get back onto the ice," said Karen McGraw-Non.

"It is very tough. I'm sure we just try to give him as much as we can. Give him tools to get better to feel better. Just be active and keep working," said Colin Pierce.

The one thing effecting Jordan the most is his speech, but being out here on the ice at least for a few minutes with some of his favorite Pens players allows him to forget about the cancer.

"Are you a fan today? Are you going to be a fan of the Pens from now on," said Barry Goers. " I'll be a little bit. I can accept that. I've had season tickets for Binghamton for 23 years," added Jordan.

"It's always unfortunate to see somebody struggling but he's battling thru it and he looks like he's doing great. It was really a lot of fun today to have him come out here," added Barry.

And with a recent trip to Chicago where he met Patrick Kane of the Blackhawks, Jordan is keeping calm and skating on. His goal along with some help from the Pens is to beat cancer.
