BERWICK -- We have been on a wild ride with the weather the last week. Just days ago we were near record lows, today near record highs, and in a couple days there's a snow storm in the forecast.

We found plenty of people in Columbia County trying to get outdoor work done before winter returns.

Thanksgiving isn't even here yet, but Lynette Klinger in Berwick is like many others, taking advantage of warm weather to put out the Christmas decorations while she can still feel her fingers.

"Oh, I can't believe it. It's so lovely today. I had to take my personal day and get my Christmas decorations up today," Klinger said.

She saw the forecast for snow and knew she better not wait.

"I have to get it all up so if it does snow, I don't have to worry about it."

For Conner Construction in Berwick, this is a great day to work on a sidewalk project. They'll work in the cold, but prefer this. Although when it's 70 in November, Jerry Conner said, "I'd rather be out golfing than doing concrete."

Those sitting in the sunshine at an assisted-living facility know this could be the last day to enjoy being outside for a while.

"I told her, 'Get out here. Enjoy today because tomorrow and from now on it's all down hill,'" said Elizabeth Puterbaugh.

People at Town Park in Bloomsburg say after the cold last week and possible snow in a couple days, this day is a gift they had to take advantage of.

"I feel like it's the last day of the world because tomorrow is not going to be nearly as nice," said Cyndi Stook of Bloomsburg.

Moms and dads had their kids burning off some energy before what could be long winter months. Everywhere in the park there were people out taking advantage of what could be the last 70 degree day for months. This park could be covered by several inches of snow by midweek.

"It's nuts, but it's always like this. It's Pennsylvania. We're used to it," said Lindsay Haupt of Elysburg.

Those with travel plans here in Pennsylvania will be watching the forecast closely the next 48 hours.
