PARADISE TOWNSHIP -- Students at Pocono Mountain School District won't have to make up the five days of school they missed during the manhunt for Eric Frein.

A spokesperson for the district tells us the Pennsylvania Department of Education has approved a waiver that allows the school to count educational hours instead of days.

Elementary students must have a minimum of 900 educational hours, while secondary students must have 990 educational hours.

Teachers will still need to make up the days missed. The district plans to have Act 80 in-service days for teachers and staff.

State officials tell us no other schools closed during the manhunt have asked for a waiver.
