WRIGHT TOWNSHIP -- It's a big honor for a school in Luzerne County.
St. Jude Elementary in Mountain Top has been named a Blue Ribbon School.
It's one of 340 schools nationwide to be recognized by the Department of Education for academic excellence.
Students, faculty, and parents celebrated the achievement Wednesday at the school in Luzerne County.
Two other schools in our area were also named Blue Ribbon Schools: Danville Area High School in Montour County and Montandon Elementary School in Northumberland County.
