The weather is perfect for the start of the ski season which could start in a matter of days.

Thanks to Thursday's cold front, a blanket of snow was left on Camelback Mountain.

With the cool temperatures continuing, many resorts are getting ready to turn on their snow guns.

"We were pretty excited when we looked on our cameras and saw a good amount of snow coming down. We're looking at some great temperatures and a lot of assistance from mother nature. So we're looking to have a great season and get started a little early, Dru Brooks from Camelback Mountain said.

Back in April the resort had to use its snow making system to start melting the snow away after a longer than normal season.

If the weather cooperates in the coming days, Camelback Mountain hopes to turn Black Friday into White Friday.

Opening the day after Thanksgiving is exciting for businesses like The Loft, who are already seeing ski and snowboard enthusiasts ready for the season.

"Whenever they turn the guns on people come out of the woodwork. They make snow, we had some natural snow, I'm looking forward to a real busy weekend," John Reilly, owner of The Loft said.

Also in the Poconos is Big Boulder.

Workers there say if the weather cooperates, the lifts could be spinning as early as next week.

"Well we don't want to speak too soon, but we're optimistic that we could see some chairlifts turning by the end of the week," Pat Morgan from Jack Frost and Big Boulder said.

It was this day last year when Big Boulder opened its resort, which was one of the earliest seasons on record.

With more cold temperatures on the way, workers say they're ready to kick off another season.

"We want to offer our customers that are coming out as much as we can and give them a high value product out there," Morgan said.

Other resorts like Blue Mountain also plan to make snow on Friday night.
