SHAMOKIN -- If you played the new Monopoly Millionaire's Club lottery game recently in Shamokin, you may want to check your ticket. There was a $1 million winning ticket sold at a convenience store there.

Employees at Turkey Hill on West Lincoln Street in Shamokin say they sell hundreds of lottery tickets every day. Out of all those, one ticket buyer is $1 million richer.

"That's insane, literally. I wish that was me," said Steve Chamberlain.

According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, someone bought a Monopoly Millionaire's Club ticket worth $1 million at the store in Shamokin.

Word spread fast in Northumberland County.

"It's awesome. I wish I knew who it was, they could give me some! But yeah, it's pretty cool," said Kenneth Harris of Shamokin.

Chamberlain says he won $500 at this store before. He says he plays the lottery there all the time.

"I'd say roughly about three times a week, four times."

The million dollar winner has not yet come forward but other players say they are envious.

"Well, I wish I could at least win $100,000, or something. Or $500 even," said Tracey Shaw of Coal Township.

The Turkey Hill store gets a bonus of $5,000 for selling the winning ticket.

"I'm sure they could use it. Everybody could use a little bit more, right?" said Harris.

People say news of the winning ticket has them thinking about what they would do with the money.

"I would pay my house off for one thing. And pay my sister off," Shaw said.

"Pay off all my mom's medical bills, my school bills, and probably move away and try to get into a better college," Chamberlain added.

Whoever has that winning ticket is encouraged to sign the back of the ticket and contact the Pennsylvania Lottery soon.
