CLIFTON TOWNSHIP --- Two people are dead after a crash in Lackawanna County and now authorities are investigating whether the slick road conditions played a role.
State police said Samantha Roman, 21, of Mount Pocono and Remming Fickens-Higgins, 25, of Pocono Summit died in the crash around 5 p.m. Friday along Route 435 in Clifton Township.
Troopers said both victims were traveling in a car that lost control, crossed the double center lines, and hit a pickup truck.
Paramedics took the driver of the pickup truck, Michael Dennis, 52, of Mount Pocono, to the hospital. His condition remains unknown.
The investigation into the deadly crash remains under investigation.
