BLOOMING GROVE TOWNSHIP -- Shortly after accused cop killer Eric Frein was captured in Pocono Township Thursday evening, he was brought back to the state police barracks in Blooming Grove Township.

That barracks is where police say Frein ambushed two state troopers more than one month ago.

A convoy of state police cruisers returned Frein to the barracks around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, finally giving us a glimpse of the man state police have been looking for for over a month.

Members of the community came out in droves to show their support for state police and to celebrate Frein's capture.

"I can't even explain what I'm feeling right now. This is awesome. We're so proud of our Pennsylvania State Police and their hard work," said Angela Ey of Hawley. "There have been many, many sleepless nights. We give our whole life to them right now. Congratulations to everyone and God bless the families involved in this horrific tragedy right here in our backyard."

"We all have children and we were afraid to go outside. We were afraid to do anything," said Laura Miller of Hawley. "So this is amazing. We were waiting for this day."

"We've been very closely watching it. It's just exciting and we're happy," said Shannon Guinard of Hawley.

State police say Frein opened fire on the barracks at Blooming Grove the night of September 12, killing Corporal Bryon Dickson and wounding Trooper Alex Douglass.

One couple stood outside their home waving American flags to the passing troopers. They live on the road leading to the barracks about a half mile away.

"They're our neighbors. They're our heart. They're our community. Just God bless all of them. That's all," said Kathy Demercuro of Blooming Grove Township.
