MUNCY TOWNSHIP -- Many stores in our area are right now looking for holiday help people willing to work during the Christmas shopping season.

Some stores at the mall have already put up holiday decorations and pop up kiosks have also been set up in just the past few weeks. Stores are getting ready for the holiday season and many of them are looking for some extra holiday help.

‘Now Hiring’ signs and applications are out at dozens of stores at the Lycoming Mall in Muncy Township. Some shops are hiring especially for the holiday season.

"Yeah there is, actually almost all the stores are hiring," said Jazmean Miller from Muncy.

Jazmean Miller is from Muncy . She is taking advantage of the need for holiday help.

"I applied at Aeropostale, Dino's, Hot Topic, and Spencer’s," said Miller.

Miller says she already has a job, but could use the extra cash.

"I would like to buy my sister something for Christmas. You know, be able to buy things for everybody," said Miller.

Holiday decorations are already up at some stores. Business owner, Matt Sears unloaded boxes of new hats at Sports Spree.

"(We are) expecting more traffic, more sales. Like I said in the next two months we'll do over half of our business for the year," said Matt Sears the owner of Sports Spree.

Sports Spree has already hired for the holidays, and so have other stores like Kitchen Collection

"You need help, loading the trucks, getting everything on the walls, and organizing, so you need the extra help," said Lalitha Durlin from Kitchen Collection.

Even with all the now hiring signs popping up at the mall, some folks who are applying at the mall say they still can't find a job.

"It's hard to get a job these days so, trying to do whatever it takes," said Donald Ritter from Williamsport.

Donald Ritter is from Williamsport. He's looking for a full time job.

"You need more money to pay for your heat, water, and your rent and all that," said Ritter.

Ritter has applied for jobs, but just hasn't had any luck yet. Still, all the now hiring signs are giving him some hope.

"Cause it looks like there is a lot of opportunity out here," said Ritter.

There are still dozens of shops hiring at the Lycoming Mall for the holiday season. Some store managers say the best thing to do if you are looking for a job, come in to the store and apply in person. If you can't, there are plenty of places where you can also apply online.
