UPDATE: According to Pennsylvania American Water, repairs were finished by 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

OLD FORGE — A water main break sent gallons of water rushing into the street, threatening properties in Lackawanna County Wednesday evening.

The 12 inch main broke just after 6 p.m. on North Keyser Avenue in Old Forge.

Some residents said water flooded their yards and basements.

“I’m not looking forward to all that work. Other than that it’s okay. It didn’t really do anything to my basement, so I’m happy,” said Darlene Tufaro of Old Forge.

Pennsylvania American Water crews were on scene and began to make repairs just before 10 p.m. They said 15 customers were affected.

Crews did not have an estimate on when the repairs would be completed.
