WILKES-BARRE – Attorneys were prepared to pick a jury for a homicide trial Tuesday afternoon, but Shauntae Thomas decided to plead guilty to third degree murder.
Thomas agreed to serve 6-12 years in state prison for the shooting death of Derrick Cottle last year.
Authorities said Thomas shot Cottle in Wilkes-Barre, after their sons were involved in a fight following a basketball game at the Coal Street Park.
