SUSQUEHANNA -- A 22-year-old woman was found dead early Friday morning inside her car in Susquehanna County; investigators say she was shot multiple times inside her car.

Friday night, state police said Jonathan Kopacz is locked up, charged with killing her, which they said he had been planning to do for months.

Kopacz remained silent as he was taken to his arraignment where he was charged with homicide Friday afternoon in Susquehanna County.

The 34-year-old man from Thompson is accused of killing Kelly Conklin, who he says was his ex-girlfriend.

Conklin was found shot multiple times outside her home on Washington Street in Susquehanna borough around 1:00 Friday morning.

According to court papers, Kopacz told police he and Conklin had a relationship that ended in May.

He admitted that he had been planning to kill Conklin for the past several months, even purchasing two firearms specifically to kill her.

Newswatch 16 found this on Kopacz's Facebook page that he posted back in July, which is directed at Conklin.

He writes, "You can't even face me and own up to the wrongs you've done. The lies you've said, the scamming me, using me, etc. And why is that.....cause you're a [expletive] coward Kelly Conklin!"

Kopacz told police, before the shooting, he followed Conklin to a local bar he knew she frequented.

When she left the bar, he followed her home.

Police said Kopacz confessed to killing her, saying while she was getting out of her car, he shot her several times, using both guns, with a gun in each hand.

Troopers later tracked Kopacz down at his apartment in Thompson.

Police said  Kopacz was inside, threatening to kill himself with those guns.

He told police, "I just killed somebody and my life is over."

Investigators say Kopacz eventually agreed to put the guns down and was taken into custody without incident.

Bail was denied. Kopacz is locked up at the Susquehanna County Prison. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for later this month.
