Junior middleweight boxer Stephon Burgette from Scranton works out at the Northeast Boxing training center in Dunmore. All in preparation for Saturday's Fall Brawl 2014 at the Dunmore Community Center. It's being called "Cops fighting for Cops" to help support the Blooming Grove "PSP Strong" campaign.

"Portions of every ticket sold at the fight will be given directly to the PSP organization to help build their funding. To this date they've raised 10's of thousands of dollars thru their t-shirt and bracelet sales which they will also be selling at the event," said Chris Coyne.

"I'm facing a lefty in Anthony Miller. It's going to be the first time I'm facing a south paw and I'm just going to look to get to work and at the end of the day it's just a fight. So I can't really worry about him being lefty or righty," said Stephon Burgette.

We'll not only is this a special night for Stephon looking for his 5th pro win, it also has deeper personal meaning the "PSP Strong" campaign is near and dear to his heart being a part-time police officer with the Dunmore police department.

"As far as the incident that occurred in Blooming Grove my heart goes out to those families and the victims. It's going to be a great thing to fight in our hometown. We also have an officer battling cancer in our department. So to have this hometown fight in Dunmore and have all the police presence. It's going to be a great thing for the community," added Stephon.

Former Scranton cop Jason Gavern returns home to fight Husan Lee from Philadelphia in a heavyweight showdown. After 8 years on the force Gavern turned boxing into a full-time 15-year career.

"Everyday the public's got to realize police officer's go out put their life on the line every single day. Something like that happens up in the Blooming Grove area is definitely a tragedy and it's cool to have myself and Mr. Burgette to be on the card kind of bring public safety to forefront. Just have people realize we're police officers. We're just human too, and thanks for everybody's support," said Jason Gavern.

10 fights fill the night on Saturday beginning at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Dunmore Community Center.
