POINT TOWNSHIP — Police in part of Northumberland County said they have charged a man in connection with the death of a 9-year-old child.
Officers in Point Township charged Victor Hare, 58, of Northumberland with endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities responded to an emergency call around 7:45 a.m. Monday at a home along Spring House Road in Point Township where the child was found unresponsive.
The child was taken by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by the Montour County coroner.
Hare is locked up in the Northumberland County prison in lieu of $40,000 bail.
Police are still investigating the child’s death.
