WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP -- Mohegan Sun Arena near Wilkes-Barre is getting ready for an event to help raise money for the families of the two troopers who were shot in last month's ambush at the state police barracks at Blooming Grove in Pike County.

The arena is changing signs around the rink in preparation for the opening ice hockey game this Saturday. Advertisements are being replaced with psp strong logos and state police graphics.

People will be able to buy items to benefit the families before the game. PSP Wives will be selling t-shirts, car decals, and bracelets outside the East Gate from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

"We're trying to find ways to give back to the community and this is such an event that hit everyone and so many families in this area that it's our way to try and do a little bit to help out and show our support for the Pennsylvania State Police," said Jeff Barrett, President/CEO Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The families of the two troopers are expected there this Saturday to drop the first puck.
