CANADENSIS-- On a normal weekend a group of friends walking through the Delaware State Forest wouldn't be an unusual sight.

However, things haven't been normal in the area for weeks as troopers continue to patrol the area searching for Eric Frein.

The cool air, bright sun, and turning leaves were just too tempting for one group of friends.

Elzbieta Kurkowski owns a cabin in the Lake Monroe development.

She said, "I don't think we should put our lives somewhere on the shelf and wait until something will happen."

Despite the warnings from officials about the Frein manhunt, the friends decided after three weeks it was time to head outside.

"I don't think this guy will approach 5 of us, I don't think that is the case, he can be dangerous, and I have heard he killed a policeman, but I don't think we should be that afraid of him."

While some folks are frustrated with the impact of the manhunt, there is also a lot of support for police.

Lily Soller, Shannon Head, and Jade Holovacko  were seen raising money to pay for the snacks for the police they see everyday.

Shanon said, "The police are having a hard time like camping out to find him, so we just thought it would be a nice idea."

Relentlessly the trio of third graders charmed customers into coughing up some cash.

During the manhunt the girls missed almost two weeks of school, but there have still been opportunities to learn in Monroe County.
