BUTLER TOWNSHIP -- Police are investigating a bank robbery in Luzerne County.

New surveillance images have been released:

Police say a threatening note was used to rob a bank in Luzerne County.

The holdup happened near another bank that has been robbed three times, including just last week.

The First National Bank along Route 309 is closed after this holdup.

Many people who live in the Drums area say they're not surprised that another bank was robbed by another crook.

"I worry about the tellers constantly. I don't know how they do it. And we live right behind here, so we're scared, too," said Ronnie Korba.

Korba was dropping off mail at the Drums post office and says the sight of police cars outside banks in Butler Township has become all too familiar.

"Our bank down the street has been robbed three times since August."

Penn National Bank less than a mile away has been the recent target.

Police say that place along Route 309 was robbed three times by three different crooks.

Peter Weinhold says he got fed up and moved his accounts to the bank down the road, the same bank that was just robbed.

"We used to bank over there. When it happened the first time, no. We stopped banking there because it is just too easy it seems," Weinhold said.

Investigators say the man who robbed First National Bank wore gloves and his note said he had a gun but he never showed it.

Butler Township Police Chief Brian Sabatini says he's not sure why these small banks have suddenly become a popular target.

"Pay attention, if you see anything suspicious, don't hesitate to call 911. That's what the police are here for," Chief Sabatini said.

Police say there was only one customer and a few tellers inside during the holdup.

No one was hurt.

There is no word on what the robber got away with.
