HERRICK TOWNSHIP -- State police are searching for Harriet Keim, 84,  from Susquehanna County.

She was last seen Tuesday between 6 and 7 a.m.

Authorities believe the elderly woman left her home on Airport Drive near Union Dale to go for a walk.

"I miss my grandmother and we just want her back," said Jacqui Papi, Keim's granddaughter.

Keim's family says the 84-year-old suffers from dementia.

"She's kind of frail and feeble, but she's a little spitfire when she needs to be, as well. So, we just don't know, " said Papi.

State police, local fire departments, K9 units, and volunteers were out Wednesday looking in Herrick Township for the woman.

"It's a difficult search," said John Bilsky, a search volunteer.

About 60 people spent the day in the woods around Union Dale looking for Keim.

Her family said she was likely wearing black loafers, jeans, and a beige sweater.

"We've got the dogs out and we're combing every square inch," said Bilsky.

Search crews are looking in dense woods along Airport Drive for that elderly woman. Her family said they can't believe she walked away from her home, but right now, they just want her home safe.

"She needs her medication. She's going to be disoriented, but we want her back," said Papi.

As the search in Susquehanna County continues, Keim's family hopes anyone with information will speak up.

Her granddaughter said, "Just please call 911, they have an amazing group of people that are helping look."

State police are also asking anyone in the Union Dale area to search unlocked cars or shelters that Harriet Keim could have wandered into.

If you have any information on Keim, you can call 911.
