GREENE TOWNSHIP -- A man escaped with minor injuries after an explosion at his house blew out walls and part of his roof.
The blast happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday night at the home on Route 447 near Newfoundland.
Chet Garrett said he had come home just a few hours earlier and was sitting on the sofa when the explosion blew him four feet in the air.
His girlfriend had just walked outside to get something out of the truck.
"I don't know. The house just blew. I don’t even know. I was out here getting in the truck. He was in the living room. I closed the door. I came out and the house just blew up," said Theresa Tighe.
Firefighters are investigating whether a problem with propane might be to blame.
