An inmate in western Pennsylvania was charged with sending a threatening letter to a judge in Monroe County.

According to federal prosecutors, Devon Williams, 24, allegedly sent a letter in January from the State Correctional Institution in Albion, near Erie, to the Monroe County Courthouse threating to kill the chief judge of the Court of Common Pleas.

If convicted, Williams faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
