BARRETT TOWNSHIP -- It was an active night in the Poconos Thursday as authorities appeared to be closing in on their suspect in the murder of state police Corporal Bryon Dickson. But after hours of blocking roads and turning people away from their homes suspect Eric Frein remains at large.

It all began late in the afternoon on day six of the massive manhunt for Frein. Police said they received credible information that Frein was in the Canadensis area. Search crews swarmed the housing development where Frein lives and shut down roads for hours.

Route 447 was closed at Snow Hill Road and another part of Route 447 was shut down near Alpine Ski Resort as troopers began to search.

Residents who live in that part of the Poconos were told they could not get through. There was no way they could get home and they were given no time frame on when they might be allowed back in.

Car after car was searched. Police from Pike and Lackawanna Counties and beyond all converged in Monroe County helping to look for Frein.

As law enforcement raced to the scene, one police car from Pocono Township crashed into an SUV on Route 940 near the intersection with Route 390 near Mount Pocono. No one was believed to be seriously injured.

After hours of searching, no one is in custody.

Police remain in the area of Canadensis and will continue patrols as they continue to search for the alleged shooter.
