Some schools in Monroe County will be closed Wednesday due to concerns over student safety.

All Pocono Mountain School District schools will also be closed due to safety concerns following the shooting of two state troopers in Pike County.

Officials with Evergreen Community Charter School and Monsignor McHugh School, both in Cresco, said there will be no school Wednesday as well.

State police say Eric Matthew Frein, 31, of Canadensis is the suspect in the killing of Corporal Bryon Dickson and the wounding of Trooper Alex Douglass Friday night outside the Blooming Grove state police barracks.

Police have not yet located Frein.  He is believed to be armed with a .308 caliber rifle and very dangerous.
