BLOOMING GROVE TOWNSHIP --  Pennsylvania State Trooper Alex Douglass is alert and talking for the first time since surgery.

That's according to investigators who said Trooper Douglass was injured Friday night when somebody ambushed the state police barracks in Blooming Grove.

Cpl. Bryon Dickson was shot and killed at the barracks in Pike County.

On Sunday night, troopers returned to those barracks to continue their investigation and search for the shooter, or shooters.

"I have 100 percent confidence in the Pennsylvania State Police. They'll get it done," said Tim O'Donnell from Bushkill.

State police said they have received numerous tips, but have not released any new information on the investigation because they want to keep the integrity of the leads coming in on the tip lines.

However, the reward for information leading to an arrest has gone up to $50,000.

There is also still a large police presence in Pike County.

Troopers have set up traffic checkpoints in the Blooming Grove area.

People who live nearby said that despite the increased police patrol, they're still on alert.

"We should be all vigilant, but I don't think we should stray too much from our daily activities and to live our life on a normal basis," said Dennis Woomer from Tafton.

Now that Trooper Douglass is conscious, troopers hope he can provide information on the shooting soon.

Douglass' neighbor, Karrie Vitaletti, said she still gets emotional when she tries to process the last few days.

"This just hitting so close to home is a very uneasy feeling, very uneasy. It just doesn't leave a good feeling with us, so we're hoping for the best," said Vitaletti.

As for Cpl. Bryon Dickson, public visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the rotunda at Marywood University, 2300 Adams Avenue in Scranton.

A funeral mass will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Avenue in Scranton by Pennsylvania State Police Chaplain Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, V. G. Burial with full honors at the Dunmore Cemetery.

There is also a memorial fund, contributions can be made to:
