STROUD TOWNSHIP -- A fire that forced a stretch of Route 447 in Monroe County to close Saturday afternoon is believed to be a case of arson.
Police and fire officials say the fire in a lounge building at the former Penn Hills Resort in Analomink started around 5 p.m.
Stroud Area Regional Police say they were already responding to reports of someone vandalizing the property with spray paint when they started getting calls about smoke and flames.
The fire on the second floor of the lounge building was put out quickly.
A state police fire marshal will investigate.
Route 447 in Stroud Township was closed between Wooddale Road and Creek Road for about an hour because of the fire.
