SCRANTON -- Plans for a new $35 million library took a big step forward Wednesday at Marywood University.

A priest blessed a beam that will be used in the construction of the Learning Commons in front of the current library.

After that, a picnic was held on campus, and students and staff had an opportunity to sign the beam.

The library at Marywood should be ready in time for fall of 2015.
