Early Morning Shooting Sends One to the Hospital

WILKES-BARRE -- Police in Luzerne County are investigating an early morning shooting.

Gunfire and flashing lights woke up people along North Meade Street just before 4 a.m. Monday.

Police said at least one person is in the hospital after the shooting.

Authorities have not said who the victim is or what led to the violence in Wilkes-Barre.

Police characterize the victim's injuries as not life-threatening.

Investigators said they are looking for Sherman Wilborne, Parkview Circle, Wilkes-Barre. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Wilborne is asked to contact police at 570-826-8106.
