UPDATE — Route 6 is back open after crews stabilized the building on Monday.

TOWANDA — A part of Route 6 is closed after part of a building fell into the road in Bradford County.

Police said bricks fell off Henry Dunn Inc., an insurance and realty group, on Main Street in Towanda Sunday morning.

According to PennDOT, Route 6 between Court Street and Pine Street in Towanda will be closed until repairs can be made to the building.

Officials said a detour is in place to help drivers get around the closed street in Bradford County.

Wonder if the heavy gas industry traffic rumbling through town for the last 6 years has anything to do with it. Perhaps someone should insure that all of the brick buildings in town are inspected. This was one of the nicer old buildings.
