A fugitive wanted in connection with a shooting has been arrested.
U.S. Marshals took Fernando Torres, 28, into custody on Mark Drive in Hanover Township Wednesday.
Police in Hazleton first charged Torres in September 2013 for allegedly shooting a man in the neck on North Poplar Street. Those charges were dropped because the victim did not show up to a preliminary hearing.
In May, police in Hazleton refiled charges against Torres.
Torres faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
Torres is currently locked up in the Luzerne County jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 10.
