HERSHEY -- A father from Wayne County decided to thank the doctor who performed heart surgery on his son in a unique way.

Mike Murphy presented a piece of artwork he created to Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital on Tuesday.

ScultptureThe sculpture shows a heart being worked on by doctors, using a wrench and a blow torch.

"I want them to, when they look at it, to think of the success stories in their field and all the hearts they have fixed, Murphy said.

Back in April, Murphy's son Gavin underwent surgery to repair a narrow aorta.

Murphy also gave a similar sculpture to the Ronald McDonald House, which helped the Murphy family while Gavin received treatment.
