SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT -- Opening ceremonies took place Thursday at Volunteer Stadium and that means the official start to the Little League World Series and ten days jam packed with baseball.

The opening ceremonies took place Thursday morning at the Little League complex in South Williamsport.

That means, the games have officially begun, kicking off the 75th anniversary of Little League.

The opening ceremonies got the crowd and the players pumped up for 10 days filled with baseball.

The 16 teams playing in the Little League World Series paraded in front of an enthusiastic crowd, as the 2014 opening ceremonies got underway at Volunteer Stadium.

The players each held little flags representing their country or state and local baseball and softball players carried the banners with the team's names on them.

"I'm really excited to be here, and not everyone can be here, so everyone is excited," said Daniel Quiroz of Mexico.

"For us, it's absolutely perfect, amazing for the kids. It's absolutely perfect," said Marin Krany of the Czech Republic.

Many people say they're excited because this year, for the first time in three years, there's a team from Pennsylvania in the Little League World Series.

"We just can't believe how excited people for this small group of 12, 13 year olds. It feels terrific. I'm thrilled for the kids and their families," said Mid-Atlantic coach Alex Rice.

The Mid-Atlantic team is from Center City, Philadelphia. Coach Alex Rice calls the experience surreal.

"It's really great how excited everyone back home is getting."

Some of the kids say the best part so far is meeting the other teams.

"It's really cool. You get to see all the teams and talk to them in different voices and it's cool," said Bryce Laire of the Southwest team.

Even so, the 16 teams have one goal.

"We want to win Williamsport!" said Daniel Quiroz. "Yeah!"

Only one team can win the Little League World Series, and we will find out in 10 days who that team is.
