Police Make Arrest After String of Burglaries in Scranton

SCRANTON — Police have made an arrest in connection with a string of burglaries that took place in North Scranton.

Police arrested Jose Alvarado of Scranton on Wednesday and charged him with one of the burglaries. Police said they expect to charge him with several more in the coming days.

According to police, when Alvarado was taken into custody he admitted that items found in his apartment were taken from burglaries.

Scranton Police said they are investigating six burglaries in North Scranton. One happened Wednesday morning. The other five were over the weekend.

Alvarado is being held the Lackawanna County Jail awaiting an arraignment.
