BUTLER TOWNSHIP — Academy Award-winning actor Jack Palace will be honored in the Luzerne County community where he once lived.
Supervisors in Butler Township say they will name a street Palance Lane.
The late actor, who was born in lower Luzerne County, owned a farm house in Butler Township before he died in 2006.
Palance won his Oscar at 73 for a supporting role in the 1991 movie “City Slickers” toward the end of a career that spanned 50 years and included an Emmy award for “Requiem for a Heavyweight” in 1956.
Palance grew up outside of Hazleton in his birthplace of Lattimer.
