Man Wearing “The Mask” Robs Bank Teller At Gunpoint

BUTLER TOWNSHIP — Police are investigating a bank robbery in Luzerne County.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Friday at the National Penn Bank in Butler Township.

Authorities said a man in a green masked threatened the teller with a gun and got away with some cash.

Police shut down part of Stockton Mountain Road in Hazle Township for several hours as they searched for the robber.

Residents said Saint Luke’s Village was placed on lock down as a precaution during the manhunt.

Anyone with information about the armed bank robbery should call 911.

Investigators released security camera photos of the alleged robber.
