POTTSVILLE -- Yuengling has been brewing beer in Pottsville for 185 years.
For the last few years, the brewery has been celebrating the summer season in Pottsville with an annual BBQ.
"What's important is that we're American owned, family operated, and I think that's important to consumers too," Jennifer Yuengling from D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc.
The Schuylkill County beer is now making it's way into New England again.
"When our son-in-law comes down here from Mass he takes the beer back with him when they come down. He won't have to so that now. Nope he'll get it right down there so now he won't have to visit us so much!" said Al Yakimo from Pottsville.
He's kidding of course, but the brewery is not.
The beer was in New England bars during the 80's, but the company pulled out to save some money.
Now, business is good and the lager is traveling.
"We opened two states already and we have a third one slated to open up next month, so we reintroduced our brands into the Northeast which has been really fun for us," said Wendy Yuengling from D. G. Yuengling & Son Inc.
Not only is the Pottsville beer going national, the company is also expanding in their own backyard by turning an old building into a museum and gift shop.
"It's nice the old building is still here and they're fixing the other old ice cream place up," said Bob Yanni from Pottsville.
With all the expansion, the Yuengling family said they're grateful for the success.
"There have been so many regional brewers that have got out of business and maybe not gone as far as we have, so we're just so fortunate," said Jennifer Yuengling.
The brewery said they plan to open the museum and gift shop within the next year.
