PLAINS TOWNSHIP -- It's the final chapter for an old bank building in Luzerne County.

The vault from the former Citizens Bank in Plains Township was pulled out of the rubble Monday morning.

That vault weighs more than 47,000 pounds, according to demolition company employees.

Workers began taking down the building on the corner of Main and West Carey Streets last month.

So far, the owner hasn't announced plans for the lot.

The vault was trucked to a site in Scranton where it will be either sold whole or cut up and sold for scrap.
