BLOOMSBURG -- It's a social media craze that has had people digging out west.

Digging for cash.

It's a scavenger hunt that many call "Hidden Cash" and now one business is banking on its own version of the game, in hopes of attracting crowds to the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.

"It's fun to see other things that are happening in other places make its way here too," Adrienne Mael said.

The Hidden Cash hunt is being organized by Carlisle Events which is putting on this weekend's Bloomsburg Nationals.

Every year the event brings thousands to the area and this time around there's free cash involved.

Organizers plan to hide 30 envelopes that hold between $10 and $200.

Most of them will be hidden at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.

The others will be hidden in town.

If you want to snag the cash, the only thing you have to do is follow the clues on social media.

"Between our Facebook page, Bloomsburg Nationals, and our Twitter feed, @CarlisleEvents, you can follow the clues. Clues will be released hourly and then you can look for the money. You find the cash and that cash is yours. It's as simple as that," Carlisle Events media specialist Michael Garland said.

People who live in Bloomsburg think the overall concept is fun.

"I think that it's a great idea. It sounds like a lot of fun. I think that the families will really get into it," Jane Kasenchak said.

A new downtown business, West End Ale Haus is excited for the Bloomsburg Nationals.

They are also excited to hear this Hidden Cash game is being mixed in with the fun-filled weekend.

"I've never heard of anything like that, but I think it's going to be pretty exciting especially getting some of the local businesses involved. Especially the newer guys like us," manager Richard Byrne said.

Envelopes in downtown Bloomsburg can be found both Friday and Saturday.

You can find the envelopes all weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
