MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP -- A carnival in Monroe County went on as expected despite a dispute over permits.
Officials hoped a judge would shut down the carnival along Route 209 near Marshalls Creek.
Township authorities said the property owner doesn't have the proper paperwork to operate a carnival.
The judge ordered a hearing for Friday.
The carnival is still scheduled to run through Sunday in Monroe County.
