MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP -- A carnival in Monroe County went on as expected despite a dispute over permits.

Officials hoped a judge would shut down the carnival along Route 209 near Marshalls Creek.

Township authorities said the property owner doesn't have the proper paperwork to operate a carnival.

The judge ordered a hearing for Friday.

The carnival is still scheduled to run through Sunday in Monroe County.

Why of “officials” want this carnival shut down. What’s the problem with “permits”.Didn’t the “officials” make money on it?
