PITTSTON -– Documents filed by the Department of Public Welfare show that state officials want to revoke the child care license at the Greater Pittston YMCA Daycare.

A DPW spokesperson told Newswatch 16 that the program has 30 days to notify the state if it plans to appeal the revocation.

Paperwork showed a series of violations at the day care, including a girl who was left in a Greater Pittston YMCA van after a field trip, and was left alone for 45 minutes last month.

The executive director of the Greater Pittston YMCA told Newswatch 16 that she received the notification in the mail today, and that she will appeal the decision.

The Greater Pittston YMCA official said the day care will remain open and she said parents will be mailed more information soon.
