SCRANTON -- Demolition crews have started tearing down an old cigar factory in Scranton.

Work started this week at the former Avanti cigar factory along North Main Avenue.

The cigar company was in Scranton for 100 years before moving to the Keystone Industrial Park in Dunmore in 2012.

The building in Scranton was sold to real estate developer Art Russo. Russo has not announced his plans for the property.
