Fire Sparked at Scranton Lace Plant

SCRANTON — Firefighters responded to a call at an old factory in Scranton.

Fire trucks were lined up outside the old Scranton Lace building on Albright Avenue.

The small fire inside started around 11 a.m. Monday.

Scranton fire inspectors say two workers using torches on the second floor sparked a small fire. Fire crews doused it with water and it was under control In about 30 minutes.

Looks like a great place to convert into affordable lofts. For a name I’m thinking Sherman Towers.
