SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP — A train derailed Sunday afternoon in Susquehanna Township.
According to officials, 12 cars from a Norfolk Southern train went off the tracks near River Road and four of those cars were full of coal.
Authorities said River Road is closed while crews clean up the mess.
Officials from the Nisbet Fire Department said there was a mechanical issue that caused the cars to derail.
There is no word on how long the cleanup will take in Lycoming County.
