HONESDALE — The case of the missing H has been solved in Wayne County.
The borough in Wayne County wanted Honesdale spelled out up on Irving Cliff overlooking town to promote sidewalk sales this coming weekend.
The four foot by eight foot H disappeared Sunday night.
A member of the Greater Honesdale Partnership said the letter was returned Tuesday morning along with a note presumably from the person who took it. It said they thought the letter was a prank to degrade the town.
The person apologized and signed the note, “The culprit.”
All the letters spelling out Honesdale are now up.
