UPDATE: Evacuation at Local Brewery Caused by Ammonia Leak

WILKES-BARRE -- An ammonia leak forced an evacuation at a brewery in Wilkes-Barre Monday morning.

Authorities said crews rushed to the Lion Brewery on North Pennsylvania Avenue just before 2 a.m.

Flashing lights and firefighters could be seen outside the brewery, but cameras were not allowed any closer.

Authorities said the leak was under control quickly in Luzerne County.

Crews have not yet said what caused the overnight ammonia leak in Wilkes-Barre.

According to officials, the ammonia leak is now cleared up in Wilkes-Barre.
